Product Review: Burt’s Bees Cranberry and Pomegranate Sugar Scrub $13

How to Keep from Getting Dry Skin this Winter

I’ve heard mixed reviews about this body scrub and I just had to try it for myself because I’ll try anything with cranberry in it! Right around this time of year my skin gets terribly dry and no amount of lotion alone can save it. Sugar scrubs have been saving my skin for years and I’m always up for trying the newest and greatest. Sometimes they’re keepers, other times, not so much. So how did Burt’s Bees do? Keep reading 😉

The Claim

  • Gently polishes and conditions your skin
  • Leaves it feeling healthy, smooth, and beautifully glowing

The Main Ingredient

The mighty Cranberry is packed with power. It’s a superior antioxidant with a unique natural balance of Omegas 3 and 6. Cranberries also naturally exfoliate skin.

The Result

Ok so I can see why the product had mixed reviews. When I first opened it up, it smelled heavenly and I had to remind myself of what the bottle said….”Do not eat!”  As I started applying it, my skin immediately felt softer and I was eager to see the results once I washed it all off. Then came the meh part of the experience, it left this weird grime-y type feeling on my skin, almost like I had just rubbed olive oil on me and was trying to wash it off with just water.

Hoping that it would soak into my skin soon, I dried myself off and went to grab my clothes. When I re-entered the bathroom, OH. EM. GEE. it smelled like I had just walked into a candy shop! I literally wanted to sleep in my bathroom that night.

After waiting about an hour to see if I would notice any difference in my skin, my skin still felt a little tacky so, didn’t soak in as quickly as I would like. What I did notice, however, was how incredibly shiny my skin was. It really was glowing like the product claimed, closest I’ve ever felt like a Victoria’s Secret model ready to walk the runway.

My Beauty Score: 4 out of 5 stars

The only thing I really didn’t like was how long it took to soak into your skin. This is definitely not a product you want to use right before going out….unless you want to feel like you just bathed in olive oil. As heavenly as this stuff smelled, I wouldn’t buy it again only because I really prefer products that feel like I don’t have anything on (part of the reason why I rarely wear foundation).

I definitely wouldn’t say it was a waste of money so if you’re thinking about trying it out, I say go for it! Then tweet me @VanessaPhelpsTV and let me know what you thought about it 🙂
